Beautifully Doomed

Life is a mystery,
To those who don't know,
The story of the boy
And his new friend, the crow.
This page is for my novel, which I am currently writing, called ‘Beautifully Doomed’. It is a story about a 19-year-old girl called Aurora Everheart.
One night, Aurora’s life changes forever when she meets a mysterious stranger at a party. From the outside, Aurora’s life looks perfect, but isn’t it the people who seem to have it all, are the ones that really have nothing at all? We follow along on Aurora’s journey as she attempts to find her feet in a world that has always felt unstable. The book explores love, power, wisdom, shame, justice and death.
I am having a wonderful time watching this world unravel in my mind. I can’t wait for this story to be fully brought to life through not just my eyes, but through your eyes as aswell. However, as the story is not quite finished (I have a habit of getting ahead of myself), I have written a poem to give a brief synopsis of the book. I hope you enjoy.
Beautifully Doomed

As dusk fell around her,
Aurora thought she might,
Find her true love,
At the start of the night.
Everything was perfect,
She was happy as can be,
Her life had been a lonely one,
She thought she’d broken free.
It was a clear, cloudless sky,
Everything was as it seemed,
When the moon began to dull,
And the stars no longer gleamed.
Midnight struck the sky,
Rain started to pour,
A storm consumed the night,
Worse than ever before.
Her faith faltered.
It vanished in the rain.
How could she keep going?
when she was in this much pain.
Shadow’s cleared the sky,
The moon began to descend.
She was stronger than she thought,
She would fight until the end.
Light flashed the sky,
Silence rippled the air,
She was ready for a new day,
She would meet it with flare.
The dawn chorus chimed,
But darkness still loomed,
She could never beat death,
She was beautifully doomed.
